TV news report
Video clips can also be inserted into a blog easily. In this example, a TV news clip is embeded to a blog. In this TV news report blog, Students can reflect on the news and comment on it. This idea can also be used in not only English subject, but also other social science subjects and liberal studies as well. Using current news is lively and authentic as well.
I think it is very good way for the students to give comments to a particular news, especially by posting a news video clip on the blog, it is more attractive than just using a news article.
Students may not be able to read the news articles, then, they are unable to understand the news. We can link the TV news programme with the newspaper articles for preparing the students with background information for writing.
I have also found that students are not able to express their feelings on the news even they understand it. Is there any way to provide students with more language input by using blog?
It’s a good way to draw students’ attention to current social issues. Students could watch the news report instead of simply reading the news article, which is easier for them to understand since they could really watch what happened on TV. This is especially good for junior form students, who should at least get some ideas about social issues.
