As suggested by Graham Stanley, blogs can be applied in ELT context in the following ways.  Blogs are good for idea generation, promote interest in writinggenerate authentic feedback from real audience. Blogs can perform writing functions like creative writing, free writing and process writing.

Yes, I agree with his opinion. Blog is a new thing to students and they like to share their awkard ideas instantly with their peers or sometimes strangers. The amazing thing is they can get feedback or comments immediately when they post their words on their blogs.

Blogs are also a good platform for extended tasks which are not always possible in the classroom. As part of the project, students can upload their work onto their blogs, and teachers can invite the students to further comments, or even critique on others’ works, which can be a further writing task for students.

Blogs are new for me and some students. From my perspective, it helps me organize my tasks with my senior students and this saves my time and space.
